Checking Out Our "Room"

I love going on trips!  I like the time away from my normal hustle and bustle.  I like getting to my destination and checking into the hotel.  As soon as I get into my room, I like to check the place out.  I like to make sure it's clean and to see all the neat stuff it has to offer! I like to check out the smell of the shampoo and conditioner; I like to see how soft the pillows are; I even like to check out the mirrors, tile floors in the bathroom and towels.  I know it's crazy, but it's fun to me!  As I was reading this morning, I came across a verse that brought to memory all of this hotel garb.  1 Peter 1:17 NASB reads "If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves in fear DURING THE TIME OF STAY on earth.  I love the phrase "during the time of your stay on earth".  You know, we just "check in" here on earth when we are born.  Sometimes we have extended stays here on this earth and some, more brief.  This passage just reminds me that our stay here is a temporary thing.  And then I thought about how good it feels, after being "away" from home for a couple of weeks, to finally get home and back in my very own bed.  There's no sweeter sight, sometimes, when you hit the county line or city limits of our "hometown".  I have a feeling we will experience that same joy when we "check out" of here and make the journey home.  And from all the books I've read, I'd say "home up yonder" is 20 times better than "home" here on earth!

Well, that's about all the time I have right now!  Gotta run and get my man off to his deep sea fishing trip this weekend and then get my girls ready for school!  Catch ya next time sweet friends!
